Information from Dr Chew:
What do I mean by Integrative consults?
I approach each consult with the view to find the root cause of the problem, rather than treating just the symptoms or the diagnosis. The focus is for the person to feel and function better, rather than treating the number on the test results. The aim would be for optimum levels, specific to the person based on their symptoms, and looking at the body as a whole rather than organ systems.
My approach also involves exploring the lifestyle and environment the person is in, and have been in. There is an emphasis on lifestyle factors, for example sleep, nutrition, movement, sunlight and outdoor nature exposure, social connections and emotional wellbeing.
I believe conventional medical treatments can be complemented with other systems of medicine and healing. Mostly importantly, I encourage a positive engagement with the person to drive the changes for their recovery and take ownership of their health.
