After graduating from the University of Birmingham in the UK in 2008, Dr Sanj Hyare embarked on her medical career as a junior doctor, dedicating two years to the UK’s healthcare system. In 2011, she and her husband made the decision to relocate to the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia, a move they have cherished ever since.
In the Illawarra, she served as a part-time Oncology Registrar at Wollongong Hospital for seven years. During this period, she developed a keen interest in holistic patient care, which inspired her to retrain as a General Practitioner. Since 2018, she has been practicing as a GP, finding fulfillment in the diverse cases and the continuity of care that general practice offers.
Dr Hyares’ professional focus includes Women’s Health; she holds a Family Planning Certificate and has completed additional training in Sexual Health. She is qualified to administer Medical Terminations of Pregnancy and perform contraceptive procedures such as Implanon and IUD insertions. Additionally, she has a strong interest in paediatric medicine and holds a Diploma of Childhood Health from the University of Sydney.
Outside of her medical practice, she is a devoted mother to three children. She enjoys staying active by going to the gym, reading, bushwalking, traveling, and exploring new culinary experiences.
